The Hora system divides each day into 24 planetary hours, each ruled by a different planet. Knowing the current Hora helps you time activities for maximum benefit.
Planetary hours (Hora) divide each day into segments ruled by the seven classical planets in Chaldean order: Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon. The first hour after sunrise is always ruled by the planet that governs that weekday — Sunday starts with Sun hora, Monday with Moon hora, Saturday with Saturn hora. Each subsequent hour follows the Chaldean sequence. Day hours and night hours have different lengths because they divide the actual sunlight and darkness periods (not clock hours) into seven equal parts each.
Practical application is straightforward. Starting a new business? Choose Jupiter hora (expansion, luck) or Sun hora (authority, success). Filing legal documents? Mercury hora handles paperwork and communication. Asking for a loan? Venus hora softens negotiations. Avoid Saturn hora for new beginnings — it restricts and delays. Mars hora brings aggression and speed, useful for competitive situations but risky for delicate matters. This calculator shows which planet rules the current hour at your exact location, along with the full daily hora table so you can plan ahead.
